The accommodation is a historic train carriage that has been lovingly restored to pay respect to it's rich heritage but to also have all the creature comforts to make your stay relaxing and idylic.
The carriage was built in 1914 and was used as a passenger carriage. It was in service for many years until it was reconverted into housing for rail workers. At the time it was owned by Western Australia Government Railway and was integral in opening up rural Western Australia. In 1999 it was restored and refurbished into the beautiful abode that it is today. It is made of locally harvested Jarrah with the exception of the flooring which is restored Oregon Pine.
Onegum is also pet friendly and is a great place for your furry companion to enjoy the clean country air and to make some new friends.
When staying at Onegum a continental breakfast is provided with local produce, farm fresh eggs and seasonal Onegum harvests.
The carriage features:
- Veranda with beautiful views of the Stirling Ranges
- Master bedroom with queen bed and a skylight for in bed star-gazing
- Guest room with twin bunk bed
- Fully self contained kitchen
- Living room with leather furniture and television
